Magnolia Bark

 

 

Magnolia Bark is also called “hou po”.  It is used in one of my favorite herbal remedies for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.  I have read that it is also anti-fungal.  Perhaps that is why it relieves thyroiditis.

Chinese Medicine Indications:

Promotes the movement of Qi, transforms dampness, resolves stagnation – used when dampness distresses the spleen and stomach

Warms and transforms phlegm and directs rebellious Qi downward.  For wheezing, due to obstruction by phlegm with coughing, and stifling sensation in chest
